My Saga Of Personal Development

Growing up is a part of life, and everyone grows and experiences their own personal development. However as I did, many feel that they can never attain certain things. Whether that is personal riches or simply to improve upon some aspect of their life that they thought was never going to get better. I’m still on my path of personal development, but I have many different stories and insights to share, hopefully they will help you on your own path of personal development and just maybe they will give you a bit of that confidence you’ve needed to really dedicate yourself to attempt something you’ve been wanting to for a long time.

I too, like a lot of others have been terribly shy in front of people. I was gripped with unnerving fear whenever I had to speak in front of a crowd, even if I just had to read a script. I could never get passed this and the fact that I could speak to my friends openly but not strangers bothered me. It confused me that I was comfortable talking to the people who would see me everyday and I would have to spend a great deal of time with but I couldn’t for the life of me comfortably speak to people who in all likely hood I would never see again. It was this fear and anxiety that drove me on my quest of personal development at an early age. If you, like me have this seemingly unavoidable anxiety, I urge you to read on and perhaps take interest in your own personal development.

After this onset of anxiety appeared I did a lot to research personal development and techniques that could help me become more social and put some of this anxiety aside. I quickly took a liking to meditation and discovered it was nothing like what you see in the movies. I played relaxing music and followed a couple of concentration guides I found online, it helped me put the daily stresses aside, even if it was just for a moment. After I had become quite good at initiating this feeling I applied to everyday situations which made me nervous. Traffic jams suddenly transformed from stressful and upsetting times of the day to calm moments of reflection; my path to personal development was quickly growing.

While my stresses and strains were all but gone and many other of my poor social and communication habits, I had noticed that the crippling anxiety of speaking publicly had not left. Desperate to accomplish this goal that had originally set me on my quest of personal development I looked again towards the internet for help. After hours of searching and cross checking I discovered a lengthy list of ways to improve speaking anxiety. A few of the tips that were nestled inside was to talk to everybody you could find and to attend public meetings. Slowly, one by one I tried each and every method and over a series of weeks I discovered my anxiety was pretty much gone and while my personal development wasn’t nearly over, I had felt I really accomplished something great.

So even if you don’t have anxiety, or stress problems, I couldn’t urge you more to start on your own path of personal development. I’ve learned that no one's perfect and from months of talking to just about everyone I could find I’ve come to get to know people very well and I’m yet to meet someone who hasn’t wished to change at least one thing about themselves. I began sharing my story about personal development and everyone seemed intrigued and vowed to try it. I don’t know if my story has led to anyone changing their lives, but I like to think so.
